Goose Confit (12oz. Pre-Cooked)
Goose confit, much like duck confit, is one of the most decadent and delightful options when choosing authentic French cuisine. This popular dish provided by Kolikof Gourmet and Caviar is already pre-cooked and ready for you to warm and enjoy.
While duck confit provides a naturally gamey flavor, goose leg confit is more mellow and has distinct flavors only found within the delicacy of pure free-range geese. Both the leg and thighs of the goose are marinated overnight to perfection in our specially curated secret blend of fresh herbs and spices.
The goose confit is then pre-seasoned and slow-cooked in naturally rendered duck fat. This time-consuming and complex process infuses them with a juicy flavor that creates a most tender, "fall off the bone" dining experience. A simple, but exceptionally impressive and delicious meal, perfect for those in a pinch.
BEHIND THE PRODUCT: We take the time-consuming process of preparing this delicacy from you and present only the finest rendition of a famous confit. Preparing a proper confit is more technique than actual recipe. The process is a way of macerating the leg and thigh meat of a goose with its own dense fat. The rich flavor of marinating the goose within its own rendered fat allows for a juicy yet profound flavoring which is embedded in every bite. Initially developed in Gascony, France, this method was developed centuries ago to naturally preserve precious meats.
