Storage, Thawing & Handling

REFRIGERATED PERISHABLES:
Refrigerate perishables promptly upon receipt. Store caviar in the refrigerator at 32º-34ºF and use within 72 hours of opening or until the use-by date, whichever is sooner. Refrigerate all other refrigerated perishables at 32ºF-41ºF. Consume ready-to-serve refrigerated seafood and meats within 72 hours of opening, or by the use-by date—whichever is sooner.

FROZEN PERISHABLES:
Freeze frozen perishables promptly upon receipt. Frozen perishables will be good for one year when properly stored in your freezer. To use, thaw overnight in the refrigerator. Cook within 24 hours of thawing. Pat dry with paper towels prior to seasoning and cooking. Consume cooked seafood and meats within 72 hours of thawing.

SAFE HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS:
Kolikof products have been prepared from inspected and passed meat, poultry and/or seafood. Some food products may contain bacteria that could cause illness if the product is mishandled or cooked improperly. For your protection, follow these safe handling instructions:

  • Keep refrigerated or frozen
  • Thaw in refrigerator
  • Keep raw meat, poultry and seafood separate from other foods.
  • Wash working surfaces (including cutting boards), utensils, and hands after touching raw meat, poultry and seafood.
  • Cook thoroughly.
  • Keep hot foods hot. Refrigerate leftovers immediately or discard.
