Bowfin, also known by its Cajun name "Choupique", is a wild American Caviar known for its distinctive earthy flavor, hints of spice and tang. Though not sturgeons, this ancient freshwater species produce grains that are small in size, firm and brown to jet black in color. Unlike sturgeon, Bowfin roe will turn red if heated. These are perfect to top on cooked dishes. 

INGREDIENTS: Bowfin Roe, Salt.

ORIGIN: Louisiana, USA METHOD: Farmed

SHELF LIFE: Four weeks refrigerated. Once opened, use within 72 hours of opening or until the use-by date, whichever is sooner.

STORAGE: Keep refrigerated. Store at 32ºF to 34ºF. Refrigerate promptly upon receipt.
