This Steak Au Poivre is Kolikof's version of one of my favorite dishes in New York. Our Dinner for 4 comes with 4 savory New York Steaks, our Echire French Butter, Sea Salt Flakes, and the star of the recipe the Kampot Peppercorns. 

Steak Au Poivre, or peppered steak, is a traditional French dish of steak coated coarsely in cracked peppercorn and served with a savory cognac sauce. Our Steak Au Poivre Dinner for 4 takes all the guessing out of the recipe and provides you with everything you need to assemble this delectable dish. 

This Gourmet Dinner for Six People Contains:

4 - NY Steaks:

1 - Echire AOC French Salted Butter

1- Maldon Sea Salt Flakes

1- Kampot Peppercorns

1- Creme Fraiche


Our Steak Au Poivre Recipe:

1. Season steaks well, on both sides, with sea salt. Lay peppercorns on a flat surface and press each side of steaks to layer the steaks.

2. Heat Au Poivre sauce on low/medium heat.

3. Heat saute pan to medium, add 1 oz oil of your choice and place steaks in pan with 1 oz of butter

4. Cook 3 minutes on each side for Medium/Rare

5. Plate the steaks and pour sauce over steaks

6. Serve with your choice of side dish. (we really love french fries!)


Our Steak au Poivre Sauce:

1. Cook steak to your taste, then remove and rest while you make the sauce;

2. Make sauce: In the same pan, add brandy or cognac, simmer rapidly for 1 minute until the alcohol smell is gone;

3. Add beef broth/stock, and simmer rapidly until it reduces by half (intensifies the flavor);

4. Stir through cream and crushed peppercorns. Serve over steak!
